My Work

Teaching & Learning Manifesto

Anybody can get in front of a classroom and lecture- but how do we ensure our students are actually learning? This work highlights my personal philosophy of teaching and learning grounded in educational theory. I explore learning theory, pedagogical methods, MBE science, and how I might apply these concepts in the classroom.

EILO- a poster presentation

Check out my scientific poster on an intriguing study discussing Exercise Induced Laryngeal Obstruction (EILO). Notice the minimalism of the poster and how the main point catches your attention. This was purposeful and based on Mike Morrison’s initiative to re-think scientific poster presentations.

IRB Study Rationale

After a (very) deep dive into the literature on chronic refractory cough, see why I propose that individuals with chronic cough should be referred earlier to specialized speech-langauge services.

Culminating Project- SLPD

For my culminating project in my doctoral program, I designed a quasi-experimental investigation in chronic cough. The purpose of the study is to determine how early referral to behavioral cough suppression therapy (BCST) for patients diagnosed with chronic refractory cough (CRC) impacts cough related quality of life outcomes and if early referral leads to faster cough control/resolution outcomes. Check out my IRB proposal!
